A REMARKABLE home could be built, specifically designed to sit within a woodland setting in Lymm.

The new house, on Higher Lane, would be one and a half storey, with the bedrooms located within a roof space.

The ceiling would be restricted to the front but with full height to the back to fit in with the trees around.

The style is bespoke and features three linked chambers which are curved to retain protected trees in the area.

The woodland in question is more than 100 years old.

The building would be timber clad with a curved wildflower green roof.

The application is due to be discussed by councillors sitting on the development management committee today, Wednesday.

The proposed site

The back of the property will include a wall of glass while large patio is also proposed.

Lymm Parish Council has objected saying the new build would not match the existing street scene.

A spokesman added: "The value of the woodland coppice area which was never intended to be built on. Any future planting would not hold the same protection as the current trees have."

Six residents have also objected fearing the loss of trees, habitat and the impact on the green belt.

The application has been recommended for approval.
