EXCITEMENT is building for the launch of the new Warrington Market which has revealed it will be opening in Time Square in April.
The new £11million modern market hall with a food court and bar is taking shape where Boots used to be and will open out onto both the new development and Bridge Street as part of a £142.5million rejuvenation of the town centre.
One of the main features will be a large Altrincham Market and Mackie Mayor-style food court, which can be separated from the market hall with shutters to welcome visitors in the evening and to host special pop-up events.
Altogether there will be 55 traders over two floors. That includes 12 hot food stalls plus a bar.
The plan is for the food court to stay open until 10pm from Thursday to Saturday and there is outdoor seating for the warmer months.
The market team also recently offered a first glimpse of the industrial chic style they have gone for with the new tables.
A spokesman said: "The market is due to open to the public in April, and will be the culmination of several years’ hard work in moving, rebuilding and re-focusing the retail market offer in Warrington town centre."
