WIRRAL singer/songwriter Dean Johnson will pay tribute to folk rocker Neil Young in a special concert this Saturday.
Although well known for his environmental anthems and timely protest songs, Neil Young composed some of the most poignant love songs of any of the 1970s singer / songwriters.
These will be the focus of Dean's concert at West Kirby Arts Centre on Saturday.
A series of bittersweet, breathtakingly honest ballads helped create Neil's lonesome, often dark persona, at odds with his superstar status.
Albums such as Harvest, After The Goldrush and Harvest Moon became essential bedsit listening.
A spokesman for Saturday's concert told the Globe: "Dean, a lifelong fan of the veteran maverick, has become a highly regarded interpreter of Young's material.
"This special performance examines the very heart of Neil Young."
Saturday's concert at the venue in 29 Brookfield Gardens, West Kirby, starts at 7.30pm are £8 and available from 07539 371925.
