THE Wire picked up their first win of the 2020 season in stunning style this evening.

Defending champions St Helens were comfortably beaten at The Halliwell Jones Stadium by a Wire display of steel and enterprise.

Daryl Clark, Tom Lineham and Josh Charnley scored tries, with Stefan Ratchford adding three goals and Blake Austin a drop goal.

Saints - so often rampant last season - were kept off the scoresheet for the first time since June 2016.
