A HIGH school student has won an accolade for her performance in a version of the classical musical The Sound of Music.
Caitlin Boulton, who is in Year 11 at Cowley International College, scooped a National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) award for her part as Mother Abbess.
The 16-year-won fought off stiff competition from 11 contenders to win the North West District Award for Best Supporting Female in a Youth Musical.

Caitlin said: “When they called my name, I was lost for words.
"I honestly didn’t think I would win.”
Caitlin was on stage in drama company RTDA’s performance of the musical that won her the prize, which took place in August last year at the St Helens Theatre Royal.
Caitlin, who has been acting and singing from an early age, has played a key role in the performing arts at Cowley for the last five years.
She is set to study musical theatre at Cowley Sixth Form after finishing her GCSEs later this year.
Award winners were announced during a black-tie ceremony in Southport
Caitlin now moves on to the regional finals of the awards.
