A MUM-OF-ONE is looking to kickstart an acting career after appearing in a short film that is set to be entered into a number of film festivals.

Michaela Taylor, from St Helens, plays a supporting role in homelessness drama I'm Human.

She stars as the wife of a doctor who turns homeless after she dies.

Michaela, 56, said: "Coming from a working class background I never got the chance to do acting when I was young.

"It is only when I got older now that I have had chance to get involved in acting, which is something I have always been interested in.

"I feel like it is my time to shine now."

Michaela, who says she has featured in Merseyside Police reenactments and as an extra in different productions, appeared in the short after attending acting school ActUpNorth in Liverpool.

She joined award-winning nineteen-year-old Lancaster producer and director Finley Clifton's team to make I'm Human.

The film, which highlights issues surrounding homelessness and featured people who are living on the streets, is due to be entered into festivals in Lancaster, Brighton and Pennsylvania in America.

Michaela, who has worked as a carer and a makeup artist, was also a founder of a creative group in Childwall, The Circle Group,  which provides opportunities for people with learning disabilities to get involved in.
