KERRY Katona is to star opposite Basil Brush in an Easter panto just down the road from Warrington.

The Padgate popstar will be appearing on stage near her old stomping ground for The Wizard of Oz at Northwich Memorial Court.

Kerry is playing the Wicked Witch of the West and will be joined by Basil Brush, CBBC and Blue Peter presenter Barney Harwood as the Tin Man and panto stalwart Ryan Greaves as the Scarecrow for three shows between March 27 and 28.

The former Atomic Kitten regular works with panto producer Anton Benson and was last on stage at the Memorial Court for Cinderella at Christmas 2018. Although Kerry moved to East Sussex 10 years ago, her association with the town runs deep.

The first time she was in the Warrington Guardian was when she won a ‘charming child’ competition, aged three.

And she said she was honoured when she was featured among the recent artworks depicting famous Warringtonians at Padgate Station.
