A PRIMARY school teacher in Stretton is aiming to complete her first marathon in aid of Make A Wish.

Rachel Hazeldine teaches at St Matthew's CE Primary School and will be fulfilling her dream of running the London Marathon in April.

The 27-year-old said: "I have raced eight half marathons before and I have been running since 2015.

"I have always wanted to run in the London Marathon so I am feeling incredibly fortunate to be taking part in it in 2020 and I’m enjoying every moment of my training!"

Rachel will be raising money for Make A Wish Foundation to help grant the wishes of critical ill children.

She explained: "Make A Wish is a brilliant charity which grants children with critical illnesses magical memories to share with loved ones.

"It is a charity very close to my heart so I feel really lucky to be able to run for them!"

The UK charity gives children aged three to 17 quality time away from the realities of living with their conditions.

Children's wishes can be anything, from holidays and experience days, to meeting celebrities or receiving that one special gift they have always wanted.

Rachel is aiming to raise £2,000 before the big event on April 26.
