A COFFEE shop that only uses plant-based ingredients has opened in Golden Square in time for Veganuary.

Brewed Boy Coffee Co can be found between WH Smith and Scotts where founder Oli Lee and his team will be operating from a coffee van and also selling vegan bakes.

Oli, 33, said: “Brewed Boy Coffee Co’s ethos is providing a speciality coffee service in a non-pretentious manner.

“We are completely vegan and we use ethically sourced ingredients, materials and fully recyclable and compostable cups and packaging.”

Oli will already be a familiar face to many as he has been a professional actor on screen and stage since he was 19.

He is best known as Aiden in Waterloo Road – the son of Robson Green’s character Rob Scotcher. But he has also worked alongside stars like Stephen Graham in Awaydays, Olivia Colman in Accused and Robert Pattinson in The Bad Mother’s Handbook and while he was in Hollyoaks his 21st birthday celebrations were covered by OK! Magazine.

“However I have a new chapter in my life,” added Oli.

“I’m making independent movies and launching a vegan coffee chain.”

Oli launched Brewed Boy in Leigh and Warrington is the second in the fledgling chain.

He said: “I can’t thank everyone enough for the support they have shown us so far, it’s been amazing. We have teamed up with Ancoats Coffee from Manchester, which has an incredible reputation as our roasters.

“Our aim is to grow into a household name and national chain people trust and love. Our first step in that is Warrington and we are really excited.”
