AN out-of-this-world Cheshire festival has added another award to its name after scooping the Best Medium Sized Festival title at a national awards ceremony

Bluedot, the annual intergalactic festival at Jodrell Bank Observatory that fuses music, science, arts and culture, won the accolade at this year’s UK Festival Awards at the Troxy in London.

The four-day event has already been named the New Festival on the Block and Mind-Blowing Spectacle from the Association of Independent Festivals.

Knutsford Guardian:

Festival organiser Ben Robinson said: “Bluedot is a truly spectacular event held in an even more spectacular location and winning Best Medium Festival is a real, real testament to everyone involved.

“This is our first win at UK Festival Awards and we’re truly delighted. Thank you to everyone who voted for us and for making bluedot what it is today.

“We have an amazing bill for 2020, the best yet. It’s not just the headline artists that will impress, we’ve really raised the bar with our science, arts, culture, wellbeing and food content and have some very exciting announcements in the coming months.

Knutsford Guardian:

"We look forward to welcoming everyone back to bluedot for another weekend of discovery.”

Next year’s festival will take place at the Cheshire observatory from July 23 to 26 and organisers are promising a weekend packed with talent from across the musical, scientific, literary and arts communities.

There will be five distinct arenas featuring cosmic culture, talks, screenings, lectures, comedy and debates, and a vast spectrum of hands-on activities.
