A COUPLE who met while serving in the Warrington police force have celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Ray and Margaret Armstrong commemorated their diamond wedding anniversary with family and friends at Birch Court Care Home in Howley on Thursday.
Margaret, 87, has been a resident at the home for 18 months and she was joined by her husband Ray, 82, their daughter Gill Rogers and granddaughter Nicola Boycott.
The pair, from Lymm and Howley, met in 1958 and were married at the former Ellesmere Street Methodist Church.
They have two children, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Margaret is known for her love of music and sense of humour while Ray loves to joke about everything.
The day was equally special for Birch Court staff member Pauline Pomfrett, who retired after 14 years working at the care home.
