FATHER Christmas will be making an appearance in Lymm and Thelwall this December with the return of the annual Christmas float.

Lymm Rotary Club, along with volunteers from the community, will escort Santa and his sleigh on his annual tour through the streets of Lymm and Thelwall next month.

The much-loved Christmas float will be returning from Monday, December 2 for 12 evenings, delivering Christmas carols and festive cheer to the residents in the area.

Father Christmas will be hoping to meet and talk to as many children as possible during his visit and parents will have to opportunity to take photos.

Collections will begin at the earlier time of 5.30pm to make sure there is enough time to get through all of the streets.

Money raised by the collections will be donated to the organisations that assist the club, including other local causes and some charities.

The Rotary Club Christmas float is a tradition that has been upheld for over 60 years. This year, for the first time, residents will be able to track the progress of the float each night.
