A 72-YEAR-OLD man has died after being hit by a car this afternoon, Monday.

Emergency services including an air ambulance helicopter and police were sent to Dentons Green Lane in Dentons Green, near to the Fort Knox warehouse, following a collision there between a Renault Clio and the man.
The crash happened at around 12.10pm.
An air ambulance landed at nearby Queens Park
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the Clio driver is helping police with enquiries.
Sadly the pedestrian, who was from St Helens, has passed away.
His next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
A road closure is in place on Dentons Green Lane to the junction of Bishop Road. The road will be reopened shortly.
Police have thanked motorists for their patience during the investigation.
