AN overturned tractor has caused thousands of litres of cow manure to spill onto the road in Lach Dennis.

The accident happened on Penny's Lane and Cheshire Police are currently in attendance.

It was said at first that 70,000 litres had been spilt, but the police has now said that this figure was 'a tad too high'.

Officers are advising people to avoid the area as the large quantity of ‘cow slurry’ will take time to clear up.

A tweet from Cheshire Police also warns those in the area to carry a clothes peg with them to combat the smell and to be prepared to wait.
