The sale price of one of Cumbria's best known and most historic pubs has been reduced to a £1.3m price tag.
The Fish Inn at Buttermere was put on the market for the first time in more than 50 years back in July.
Now specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co has reduced the asking price of the traditional Lake District country inn that enjoys spectacular views over one of the region's most-loved views.
The inn is part of the local legend, ‘The Maid of Buttermere’, which tells of Mary Robinson, the famously beautiful daughter of the landlord of The Fish Inn in the 18th century, who was married to a local man illegally posing as nobleman ‘Colonel Hope’.
Along with its place in folklore, The Fish Inn is recognised for its location in one of the area’s most beautiful valleys.
The 10 bedroom inn has a breakfast room and lounge, along with a public bar and restaurant for around 70 covers.
It and has been owned and run by Jean and John Richardson since 1968, and they are now seeking a sale in order to pursue their retirement.
