POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a driver of a car left his car and assaulted a teenager in Thornaby.
The alleged incident, between a 19-year-old woman and a driver of a silver/grey people carrier, happened at around 7.50pm on Saturday, November 9.
It is believed the woman was on Langley Avenue near to Imperial Avenue, when the man and woman became involved in a verbal argument.
Police investigating said the man then got out of his car before assaulting the woman, causing her to hit her head on the floor sustaining minor injuries.
On Thursday, police released a description of the suspect - a white man with pale complexion, dark hair, broad build and around 6ft tall.
The suspect is described as having a local accent, in his 30s, and wearing a dark grey top and dark bottoms.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact PC Daniel Smythe on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the event number 193128."
