THE owners of Retros Music Bar have said that they will do all that they can to remain in the town they love.

The popular High Street venue shocked customers earlier this week as owners revealed that they were considering closure.

A drop in footfall and support left them questioning whether there was still a place for the bar in the town.

But one of the owners has now said that they will introduce a range of fresh ideas to continue trading in the town where ‘it all started’.

In a statement, they said: “We have been trading in Northwich for the last four years and have been trying to move into bigger premises for the past two years.

“At first, we tried to acquire the old Madison’s building and then a space in Barons Quay, however both have been unsuccessful due to landlords.

“We have also noticed a drop in footfall for the bar, and this led us to change our plan and start to run some new ideas.

“Starting from this Friday, we will be playing more up-to-date music and will also have some guest DJs joining us in the coming weeks.

“We love trading in Northwich and will be trying a lot of new things to try and keep us in the town.

“This is where it all started for us, as we were the first independent bar to open in Northwich, and we also host the yearly scooter day.

“This has become a great day for the whole of the town, with each year getting bigger and better.

“We are still trying to move to a bigger premises as this will allow us to do a lot more and be open during the week.”
