WARRINGTON Wolves have been praised after giving a fan who missed the 2019 season his 2020 membership for free.
The club heard about the fan who bought a membership for the 2019 season but was unable to use it due to illness.
The only game he went to was the defeat to Castleford Tigers in the play-offs.
In a remarkable act of kindness, the club then refunded the supporter, identified as John, when he decided to renew for the next Super League season.
The letter from the club
The story was shared on social media this week, with many people praising the club for its actions.

The Warrington Guardian spoke to the club on Tuesday.
A club spokesperson said: “We spoke to John on the phone when he called up to book tickets for the Castleford play-off fixture; he mentioned that he hadn’t managed to get to a game at The Halliwell Jones Stadium all season due to illness, and that this game would be the first time he had sat in his seat all year.
"A couple of weeks ago we noticed he had renewed his membership for 2020, which was when we decided to refund him his money and pop him a complimentary membership in the post.
"The support of our fans is vital to us and we felt that this was a fitting way to reward a long-standing member of the club.
"We are really happy to hear that John is now over his illness and we look forward to seeing him in his seat at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in 2020.”
