AN author born in Warrington is returning home on Sunday.

Frank Melling, who has 22 successful books to his names, will be at the Makers Market in Palmyra Square, performing readings from his new collection of short stories 'A Sixpence in the Settee'.

Frank said: “I still consider Warrington as home, although it’s been a long time since I have been back to the town.

"Bringing 'Sixpence' to Warrington will be a wonderful experience because many of the stories, including the title piece 'A Sixpence in the Settee', are inspired by my childhood.

“Palmyra Square also holds fond memories for me from when I would sit in the gardens after a visit to the wonderful Warrington Library, which was the inspiration for all my subsequent writing.”

'A Sixpence in the Settee' is a collection of 32 short stories, each one posing a different question for the reader.

There’s something for everyone – from science fiction and fantasy to the realities of modern day life.

It is out now priced £10 and is available, post and packing free, from frankmelling.com.
