TAKE a step back in time to meet the Vikings at Warrington Museum on Saturday.
The venue will be taking visitors back 1,000 years between 11am and 3pm at the free event.
Taking centre stage in the library will be Viking reenactors, who are set to entertain audiences with a number of authentic games and live music, while storytellers from Imagining History recount the Mighty Myths of Thor and Loki by delivering two 45-minute performances, one at midday and one at 2pm.
Meanwhile, visitors can cast their eyes over artifacts while budding artists can try their hands at making Thor’s famous hammer pendant upstairs in the museum between 1pm and 3pm.
Wendy Molyneux, strategic library manager for LiveWire, said: “We’re so excited to welcome Warrington families to the museum and library this Saturday.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the whole building while also delving into the fascinating world of the Vikings.
“From craft activities to storytelling sessions and amazing artifacts, we’ve got something everyone will enjoy.”
Viking Day takes place at Warrington Museum and Library between 11am and 3pm on Saturday and is free.
