JASMINE Davies has gone into the history books as JC ABC’s first national champion.
She followed up Esker Cup gold in Dublin, where she stopped the local favourite in the first round of the final with a powerful backhand, with success in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
There Davies delighted her townsfolk of St Helens, and all the travelling faithful from JC’s, as she became the Jackson Street club’s first ever national champion.
She won the final with supreme work rate, never letting up, and winning with a stoppage in the final round.
Her Coach Ste Birch, who paid tribute to the young star, said: “Jasmine works incredibly hard in the gym, her discipline is exemplary with daily runs, and her enthusiasm is inspiring.”
Davies recently turned 16, and astonishingly has only been boxing for 12 months.
