NEWCHURCH Community Primary School has been recognised for creating a nurturing learning environment for dyslexic pupils.
The Dyslexia Friendly Award from the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) was presented to the Culcheth-based school for its exceptional standards of education for those with dyslexia.
The association report that ten per cent of the population are believed to be dyslexic.
Rachael McMullen, Head of Education for BDA said: "Newchurch Community Primary School is a wonderful, nurturing environment where pupils feel supported and valued."
There are currently only 13 other maintained schools across England that hold this award.
