CHRISTMAS is creeping ever closer and Wirral-based cerebral palsy charity Stick 'n' Step is appealing for our readers to take part in this year's fundraising Liverpool Santa Dash.

Taking place on Sunday, December 1 it promises to be the biggest yet when hundreds of people take to the streets of the city centre in red and blue Santa outfits for the annual 5km run.

Stick 'n' Step is inviting runners to take part as an individual or as part of a team to help raise funds for its two centres in Runcorn and Wallasey.

Head of fundraising at Stick 'n' Step Jenny Snell said: "This annual event is one of the most popular running events in Liverpool and is an important part of the lead up to Christmas for a lot of people.

"This year we would love to field our biggest team of Santas ever, so whether you want to sprint, jog or simply stroll the 5k, we’d love to hear from you."

Age is no barrier to taking part, with children being welcome to do the shorter, 1k Santa Dash.

Anyone signing up to the Santa Dash with Stick 'n' Step will receive a red (or blue) Santa suit.

Stick 'n' Step offers support services to children with cerebral palsy and their families.

The charity provides the children with totally free of charge conductive education sessions, allowing them to gain the skills they need to live independent lives. In total, 98 children from across the region, attend these sessions weekly or twice weekly at the charity’s Runcorn and Wallasey centres.
