A TALENTED array of young Thespians from across mid Cheshire are putting the final touches to their forthcoming production.

The Mid Cheshire Youth Theatre company – made up of actors aged 10 to 18 – will perform 'The Addams Family - A New Musical Comedy' Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 24, 25, and 26.

Fresh from a hugely successful production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, the cast will be assisted by a professional orchestra and brilliant set and costumes at The Grange Theatre, Hartford.

Northwich Guardian:

With music and lyrics from Andrew Lippa, the show promises a hilarious storyline complete with original score and all your favourite characters.

Jenna Finnigan, who performs with the Mid Cheshire Musical Theatre Company – which recently enjoyed a sellout run of 'Evita' – said: "We can’t wait for audiences to see it.

"Set in the deepest, darkest depths of Central Park, New York, the story follows the ultimate 'Princess of Darkness', Wednesday Addams, who has fallen in love with a respectable young man from a 'normal' family and secretly the two plan to get married.

"Wednesday confides in her father, Gomez, and swears him to secrecy. A brave move, as this means keeping it from his beloved wife Morticia – will he succeed or will Morticia discover the truth before the two families meet for dinner with disastrous yet hilarious consequences?

Northwich Guardian:

"Guiding the audience through the eventful night is Addams Family favourite, Uncle Fester. Fester himself learns a lot as the show progresses, as do Mal and Alice Beineke, the 'normal' parents who are thrown into the Addams way of living – despite Mal’s best, albeit unsuccessful, efforts to escape.

"Alongside Fester are the Addams Family ancestors, a fabulous group who, under Uncle Fester’s guidance, do their best to help the young couple achieve their dreams, but as ever, it doesn’t always go to plan.

"And not forgetting Lucas, Wednesdays’ beloved husband to be – can he convince his parents that marrying into the Addams Family is the right move and will he go through with it?

“'Helping' them decide are Pugsley and Grandma Addams, whose methods may not be the most conventional, but will certainly have you laughing, as will Lurch, the family’s Butler.

Northwich Guardian:

"A man of few words but one not to be missed.

"The show guarantees to have you crying with laughter and dancing in your seats. Full of brilliant songs, dances and inspired comic timing, this talented cast bring you a challenging show which guarantees not to disappoint."

The Addams Family live by the rule 'family first and family last', and this story of love, laughter, family and friendship is one for all the family.

The show offers a chance to kick off Halloween in style, whether you are 'living, dead or undecided'.
