THIS is the haunting 999 call David Pomphret made to the emergency services after murdering his wife.
Having killed Ann-Marie Pomphret by hitting her up to 30 times with a crowbar at the couple’s stables on Old Alder Lane in Burtonwood, the technology expert disposed of evidence including his clothes and the murder weapon.
Then, up to two hours after his wife had died, he called 999 – claiming he had discovered her body.
In the call, David Pomphret said: “She’s very dead.
“She’s lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
“What am I going to tell my daughter?
“Oh god, my wife – what’s she done to deserve this?
“What am I going to do?”
