WARRINGTON’s Own Buses has been named as the best small to medium-sized bus company in the country.

The operator scooped the award at this year’s Route One Bus and Coach Industry Awards during a ceremony at the NEC in Birmingham.

Comedian Hugh Dennis, star of BBC shows Outnumbered and Mock the Week, presented company directors with the award.

Managing director Ben Wakerley said: “Winning this award means a lot to all of us here.

“All members of the team are contributing to the improvements we are making.

“I know there is still work to do, and we will continue to make things better.

“This award is a validation that the direction we are going in is the right one."
