AN air ambulance was called to Orford after a pensioner suffered major trauma injuries during a fall.
Paramedics attended Orford Lane at around 10.45am today, Wednesday.
The North West Ambulance Service confirmed that a man in his 70s had fallen from height.
An air ambulance landed on nearby Brickfields Park in order to assist with the incident.
The man was taken to Salford Royal Hospital by road after suffering major trauma injuries to his head.
Eyewitnesses reported that the male received treatment inside the Betfred store, and that the bookmakers was shut to customers as a result.
