A NEW defibrillator has been installed in a Bewsey gym thanks to a generous donation from Warrington Round Table.

The life-saving device has been fitted inside BodySculpt Transformation Centre, which is now one of a number of locations across the town to have the equipment readily available.

And to thank the Round Table for their support in buying the defibrillator, members were invited to the gym and treated to a workout.

This involved a challenging hour of press-ups, squats and steps led by one of the centre’s top trainers.

Speaking about the new defibrillator, BodySculpt founder Ash Owen said: “I lost a childhood best friend at the age of 30 from cardiac arrest, so having a defibrillator on site is essential for us.

“Installing the defibrillator would not have been possible without the support and generous donation we received from Warrington Round Table.”

The defibrillator will be available for members and local businesses on Hoyle Point Industrial Estate to use.

Warrington Round Table was approached by the gym to see if they would be willing to sponsor the equipment, and current chairman John Gaunt said the group were only too happy to help out.

“We are always looking for good causes to benefit the people of Warrington and this seemed like a great way of doing so,” he added.

“After we had given our donation, the BodySculpt team asked us if we wanted to come along to one of their workouts as a way of thanks, and we said yes straight away.

“It is always great to visit the organisations we support and we certainly had a blast in doing so.”

Warrington Round Table are a group who support local charities, people and organisations.

As well as this, they hold regular social meet ups and are always welcoming to new members.
