TWO people were left trapped in a car following a multi-vehicle crash in Lostock Gralam this morning, Wednesday.
Emergency services were called around 7.45am to the A559 Manchester Road crossroads, near the Slow and Easy, to reports of a three-car crash.
Two fire crews were among those in attendance, with one man needing to be cut free.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "On arrival crews discovered that the collision involved three vehicles and that two people - a male and a female - were trapped inside one of them.
"The road was closed in both directions as emergency services worked at the scene.
"The casualties were assessed by paramedics.
"After being assessed, the female was able to get out of the vehicle by herself.
"Firefighters used specialist equipment to get the male out of the vehicle.
"They then handed him over to the care of paramedics.
"Firefighters also made the vehicles involved in the collision safe.
"They were in attendance for around 50 minutes."
The crash was on the Manchester-bound carriageway at the junction with Station Road and Hall Lane.
A police spokesman said the injuries were not thought to be serious, and the road fully reopened at 9.53am.
We are aware of a RTA very near to school. Manchester Road is closed after the Slow & Easy crossroads towards Knutsford. Traffic is being diverted past school so please take extra care as it will take longer than usual coming to school this morning.
