RESIDENTS took a step back in time this weekend at Gulliver's World to commemorate the personnel who were stationed at RAF Burtonwood from 1940 to 1993.

The annual RAF Burtonwood Heritage Centre’s Stars and Stripes nostalgia weekend returned with a fantastic range of attractions.

From classic cars, military vehicles to stylish vintage stalls, there was plenty to celebrate the history of RAF base.

Plenty of people put on their dancing shoes to take part in the Sunnyside Swing and Rock 'n' Jive with a retro DJ.

A flypast was due to take place over the site yesterday, Saturday but an engine failure meant the Second World War plane had to make an emergency landing at Manchester Airport.
