A DEFIBRILLATOR has been installed outside Appleton Thorn Village Hall to protect members of the community.
Susan Plass, a trustee of the Appleton Thorn Village Hall charity, started campaigning last year so the public could have access to the potentially lifesaving device.
Now the defibrillator, from Hand on Heart, is installed together with a dusk to dawn light, entirely due to the generosity of sponsors including Appleton Parish Council, Campaign Against Ruining on Environment, Geoff Plass and David Wilson Holmes, who donated £1,000.
The code to access the defibrillator can be obtained by ringing 999 or from inside the hall, church or the Thorn pub.
About 30 residents have since been trained in CPR and in using the device, thanks to Donna Romani.
