A BROKEN down train between Eccles and Newton-le-Willows is resulting in long delays this morning.
Some trains will be cancelled and disruption is expected until around 9:15am.
The problem is affecting Northern trains between Manchester Airport / Manchester Victoria and Liverpool Lime Street; between Chester and Leeds
TransPennnine Express between Newcastle and Liverpool Lime Street
Transport for Wales between Manchester Airport / Manchester Piccadilly and Llandudno Junction
Northern customers may use their ticket on TransPennine Express services between Liverpool Street and Manchester via Warrington Central.
TransPennine Express may use their ticket on Northern between Manchester and Liverpool in both directions.
East Midlands Railway between Manchester and Liverpool in both directions.
