A KITCHEN showroom has closed its doors after the company folded.

Earle and Ginger Kitchens in Stockton Heath suddenly shut its doors last week, with the London Road unit now standing empty.

Some customers have been left thousands of pounds out of pocket by the firm’s collapse after paying for kitchens they never received.

Trading as Fun By Design (Stockton Heath) Limited, the company gave notice of a voluntarily strike-off at the end of July.

But consumers were unaware that the business was due to cease to exist until the unit was vacated on Thursday, August 29.

Warrington Guardian:

A number of sister companies based in Urmston, Denton and Birkdale – all of which were only formed in December last year – have also closed down.

Associated business Fun By Design Limited has been in administration since April – having made losses of nearly £200,000 last year.

A statement from administrators Leonard Curtis said: “I can confirm that in this case, the administrators are of the opinion that the company has insufficient property to enable a distribution to be made to unsecured creditors.

“A dividend is however expected to be paid to the preferential creditors.

“Creditors whose debts amount to at least 10 per cent of the total debts of the company may however request the administrators to seek a decision from the company’s creditors as to whether they approve the proposal.”

Founded in 2001, the company employed 14 staff.
