A MAIN Northwich route is set to be closed each night this week, starting from tonight, Monday.

Soot Hill, which joins the A533 by the River Weaver in Barnton, will be closed tonight from 7pm until 6am tomorrow morning, to allow council workers to carry out resurfacing work.

It will be closed from the junction with the A533 up to the junction with Daisy Bank Lane.

The road will also be closed during the same period each night this week, with the last closure expected to be between Friday night and Saturday morning.

A public order issued by the council states: “A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use alternative routes. The closure will come into force on September 2 and will be in force for a maximum of five days. It is anticipated that the work will last for approximately five days.
