A woman's body has been found in a river in Caersws.

The woman's death is not being treated as suspicious, Dyfed-Powys Police said.

Police say the body was discovered at around 10am on Thursday, August 29.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the woman's next of kin and HM Coroner have been informed.

The police force said there are no details of identification as yet.

A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "On Thursday, August 29, at 9.58am, firefighters were called to assist the Police at an incident in Caersws, Newtown.

"Sadly, the body of a deceased female was recovered from the river.

"The Fire Service left the incident with the Police at 12.05pm."
