SANDIWAY Library will be closed for around 10 weeks from next Monday, September 9, for building repairs.

Alternative arrangements have been made at nearby locations to help customers return or borrow books during the closure.

The opening hours at Barnton and Weaverham Libraries will be extended during the Sandiway closure.

In addition to usual hours, Barnton Library will be open 9.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm on Tuesdays and Weaverham Library will be open 9.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm on Thursdays.

The mobile library will also stop at Cuddington and Sandiway Village Hall between 9.30am and 12.30pm on the following dates:

Saturday, September 14; Saturday, September 21; Saturday, September 28; Saturday, October 5; Saturday, October 12; Saturday, October 19; Saturday, October 26; Saturday, November 2; Saturday, November 9; Saturday, November 16.

Cllr Louise Gittins, leader of the council and cabinet member for communities and wellbeing, said: “To help our customers during this time we’ve made temporary arrangements at nearby locations and our usual 24/7 online services will also be available. During the temporary library closure, loans have been extended and won’t be due back. We apologise for any convenience caused while this building work takes place.”
