A BMW crashed on Allerton Road, Bradford, this afternoon.

The silver car was involved in a damage-only road traffic collision near the Aldi supermarket at about 12.15pm.

The incident was called in by West Yorkshire Police officer.

An eye witness said that the vehicle had seemed to have been chased by police but a police spokesman said it would appear the officer was driving along the road at the time and that this was not a chase.

Damage was caused to two parked cars and the BMW was recovered.

First West Yorkshire tweeted that services 617/618 had to be diverted via Chapel Lane and Grange Road to ease congestion caused the the incident.

The road is now open again and services 617/618/615/616 were operating normal routes in the area.
