PLANS to convert a car garage into a flooring showroom, along with a food deli and apartments have been withdrawn.

Proposals had been drawn up after WJD Specialist Flooring Contractors have purchased the Rainford Service Station premises at 196 Ormskirk Road.

They seek to convert the premises into a showroom and office, with a food deli attached and two apartment s available for rent above.

The planning application stated: "The owner of the company has recently purchased Brewers Service Station on Ormskirk Road, following their decision to solely utilise the main premises at Diamond Business Park, Rainford Industrial Estate.

Brewers Service Station shall be moving to the business park shortly, which will temporarily leave 196 Ormskirk Road vacant".

They add plans "include a single storey forward addition and upper floor with pitched roof, to be utilised as a flooring showroom / office with a food deli attached, plus two self-contained apartments above.

"It is proposed that the show room and deli will function as separate businesses, but be connected with a door between, with the businesses being run by the same owners".

They say the "small residential flats will be sought after as either rented space or to buy, provisionally available for rent".

The application has been withdrawn and the applicant has been told to discuss any revisions with the planning officer if they wish to resubmit.
