Oliver's Restaurant & Fagin's Wine Bar Penketh
A newcomer to our afternoon tea list, this one has to be pre-booked 24 hours in advance.
As well as sandwiches filled with cheddar and red onion chutney and beef and horseradish, the savoury selections include a mini quiche followed by afternoon tea desserts and macaroons.
It's £14.95 per person for a minimum of two.

Patisserie Valerie, town centre
This Golden Square venue offers afternoon tea for two including traditional finger sandwiches, scones and mini versions of its cake treats for £25.
Dark Side of the Spoon, Warrington Market
One of our Customer Service Award winners, this place combines the sweet treats of Dark Side of the Spoon with fried favourites from Cafe at the End of the Universe.
Their alternative afternoon tea includes mini burgers, corn dogs, halloumi fries and cake pops and is available after 3pm or 3.30pm on Saturdays for £15 per person.
Kenyon Hall Farm, Croft
You'll have to wait until the end of August to try this one as service is suspended during the busy school holidays.
Reviews suggest it's worth the wait with scones served fresh from the oven, award-winning preserves, home-made cakes and savouries all served on vintage China.
It's £14.99 per person and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
Dormouse Tearooms, Daresbury
The traditional afternoon tea includes a sandwich selection, classic scones with jam and clotted cream and a selection of home made cakes with a pot of tea or drink of your choice for £17.50.
Or you could have the rustic afternoon tea with sandwiches,
home made quiche, pork pie and pickle, classic scones with jam and clotted cream and a selection of home made cakes with a pot of tea or drink of your choice for £21.50.
All afternoon teas must be pre-booked in advance and a deposit of £5 per head is required.
The White Hart, town centre
For £12.95 per person you can have a selection of sandwiches and cakes and unlimited cups of tea for two hours.
It's served every day from 12 until 5pm but you'll have to book.

Statham Lodge, Lymm
There's four choices here.
The traditional afternoon tea is £16 per person including a selection of sandwiches, warm scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, an assortment of cakes and pastries and a pot of tea or coffee.
The Squire’s Afternoon Tea is £16 per person and includes warm savoury cheese scones with chutney and pickle or you can add prosecco for £20 per person or champagne for £25 per person.
Hallmark Hotel, Old Knutsford Road
This spread includes a selection of finger sandwiches, a variety of cakes and pastries and classic scones served with strawberry jam and clotted cream for £22 per person.
Or if you fancy something a bit smaller, their cream tea is £11.
R'Teapot, Bruche Heath Gardens
This arty, independent coffee shop has been getting great reviews for their afternoon tea.
One woman said it was a 'real gem' with sandwiches and wraps packed with fillings and her family loved the mini cakes to finish.
McDee's, Culcheth
The traditional afternoon tea is £15 and comes with a selection of sandwiches, fresh salad and quiche as well as some McDee’s sweet treats and of course a fresh scone with fruit, jam and cream.
