A GANG of 10 youths smashed up a man’s car with baseball bats after forcing him to stop his vehicle.

The victim was driving on Old Alder Lane in Winwick shortly before 8pm on Saturday, August 10, when he was forced to stop by two cars which pulled out in front of him near to the junction with Mill Lane.

He was then surrounded by a group of around 10 teenagers who attacked his Mini with baseball bats, smashing a number of windows before he was able to drive away from the scene.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 10pm on Saturday, August 10, officers were called to reports of criminal damage in Winwick – the caller reported that they had been driving their grey Mini on Old Alder Lane, towards Winwick, at approximately 7.50pm when their vehicle was damaged by a group of unknown youths.

“The youths, who were all wearing dark clothing, smashed a number of windows in the car before the driver managed to drive off from the scene.”
