AN AWARD winning cafe is keeping Rhuddlan "in the public eye".
The Java Square Bistro has followed up being named the only eaterie in Denbighshire to earn a Good food Award by being named the Welsh Cafe Awards 'Customers Most Wanted Cafe of the Year' in the inaugural competition.
Jackie Burnham, owner of Java Square, said: "This award really came out of the blue. We were riding high on winning North Wales Best Cafe Bistro for the second year when we were told that we had been nominated for this award.
"Being announced the Customers Most Wanted has taken what were already achieved to another level.
"Java Square is definitely helping to keep Rhuddlan High Street busy. Our awards have contributed to keeping Rhuddlan in the public eye.
"I think we will need a bigger wall soon to display our awards."
As well as helping cement the town's reputation as a foodie hotspot, Java Square has also been involved in a scheme this year alongside Ms Burnhams' other business Rejuva, The Little Cheesemonger and the Farmhouse Kitchen to give discounts to customers who have paid for parking.
Mrs Burnham said: "We listen to what our customers want and will always go that extra mile to make their visit memorable.
"Our customers play a big part in our business development - these people are so important to us as a small business and it’s their continual support and recommendations that have helped us grow over the years."
