A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the A50 Manchester Road in Knutsford, near to The Cottons Hotel.
The crash, between a BMW car and a motorcyclist riding a Harley Davidson, happened just before 11am yesterday.
The road was closed for several hours while paramedics attended to the 63-year-old rider.
Police say the man's injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "At 10.56am on 4 August police were called to the A50 Manchester Road, Knutsford following reports of a serious collision.
"The collision involved a blue BMW and a Harley Davidson near to the Cottons Hotel. The rider of the motorbike, a 63-year-old man, was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary with serious injuries which aren’t believed to be life threatening."
