A MULTI award-winning wildlife cameraman, hailed by Sir David Attenborough as one of the best there is, will be visiting Northwich Memorial Court in October.
With five Bafta and eight Emmy Awards to his credit, Doug Allan embarks on a 21-date UK theatre tour from September entitled Doug Allan Wild Images, Wild Life.
The show will start at Winchester’s Theatre Royal on September 16 and conclude on December 1 at The Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford, stopping off at Northwich on October 3.
Doug, whose credits include Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Frozen Planet and Brian Cox’s Forces of Nature will share behind the scenes stories for all the family, with highlights from the most challenging assignments of his 35 years filming wildlife in the remotest places on Earth.
Doug will also be tracing his personal journey as he discusses how he’s seen pollution and climate change affect the natural world.
Born in Fife, Doug Allan spent seven years in Antarctica as a Scientist, research diver and photographer for the British Antarctic Survey before changing direction to full time freelance filming in 1983.
Since then he has become one of the world’s best known and most respected cameramen, specialising in natural history, expeditions and science documentaries.
In addition to this work with Sir David Attenborough and Brian Cox, Doug has worked for the BBC, Discovery and National Geographic channels filming programmes such as Human Planet, Ocean Giants, Operation Iceberg, and Wild Cameramen at Work.
