PLANS have been submitted to build nine three-bedroom homes on green belt land in Lymm.

The site on Pool Lane is currently vacant, with planning documents stating that the land’s contribution to green belt is ‘very weak’ and agricultural usefulness is ‘very limited’.

At this stage, only outline planning permission is being sought, with further details concerning floor plans, and the appearance of the homes to be revealed in future applications.

According to documents on the council’s planning website, four two-storey and five three-storey dwellings are being proposed.

Each will have a private garden to the back, including a three-metre patio and access to two parking spots per property.

The scheme proposes to retain and upgrade the Oldfield Road public footpath running alongside the estate to connect the development to nearby housing estates and other facilities.

Proposals also state that ‘a number of’ existing trees and hedges will need to be removed to accommodate the new dwellings.

Due to the site lying within a flood plain, the homes have been positioned within ‘less at risk’ areas.

In its design and access statement, the applicant states: “We believe the high-quality development can make a sustainable contribution to the existing area and enhance the amenity of the existing neighbouring properties.”
