A HOT yoga studio that opened its doors in Northwich in 2018, has announced a charity trek event of epic proportions as it looks to conquer the mighty Mount Toubkal – the highest peak in north Africa.

Hotpod Yoga Northwich’s search is on for brave and dedicated adventurers to join in on the trek up the 4,167m mountain in April next year, in order to raise much-needed funds for The Joshua Tree.

Minna Scaife, founder of the High Street-based Hotpod Yoga Northwich, said: “We’ve had such an amazing welcome to Northwich by all the local people since we opened our hot yoga studio that we wanted to give something back to the local community.

“When we met with The Joshua Tree and learnt about the amazing work they do, we just knew we wanted to do something for the charity. We are looking forward to working with them not only with this trek, but with other activities as well.”

The trek is due to take place from April 15 to 19 next year and anyone locally to Northwich can take part on the adventure.

It will then help to raise funds for The Joshua Tree, which is awaiting the completion of its purpose-built support centre in Sandiway.

Pippa Watson-Peck, communications and fundraising manager at The Joshua Tree, said: “Support from a local business, such as Hotpod Yoga, is vital in helping us continue to support families affected by childhood cancers from across the north west and north Wales.

“It is great to have such a new organisation open up in Northwich and support us in this way, not only from a local charity perspective, but also an opportunity for us to talk about the physical support we offer and the positive affect it has on children overcoming treatment for cancer.”
