THE parent of a Chaigeley School pupil has paid thanks to staff by organising a special vehicle convoy.

Lee Tomlin, who is a registered vehicle marshal, travelled to the Thelwall school as a part of Vans With Lights, a group which attends a variety of events with vans, motor bikes, scooters and even an American style police car complete with lights.

Lee, from Burtonwood, said: "We do a lot of different events throughout the north west – funeral processions for bikers or other van owns, prom processions and we also escort Santa and Easter egg runs.

"Also, the Manchester bikers memorial run for the 22 people who lost their lives in the bombing two years ago.

"Not long ago a fellow Van With Lights member passed away and we brought St Helens to a standstill when we all got together for his funeral."

Chaigeley School helps pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties and has been a helping hand for Lee's 15-year-old son.

Lee said: "In my opinion this school is absolutely brilliant.

"It has helped my son so much, my wife and I can't thank them enough."
