TATTON MP Esther McVey is back in Government for the third time, this time as Housing Minister.

The new Prime Minister Boris Johnson met with his cabinet for the first time this morning, with the country getting its first glimpse at the new-look cabinet.

The former GMTV presenter, who challenged Johnson for the Tory leadership before being dumped out of the race at the first vote, is now back in Government.

A familiar face in cabinet, Esther was appointed Minister of State for Employment in the Department for Work and Pensions in David Cameron's government and more recently was made Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in 2018 by Theresa May.

She resigned from her post at Secretary for Work and Pensions in November last year over Brexit, but after Johnson was appointed as the new Prime Minister this week, McVey finds herself back in Government.

Given the role of Housing Minister, Esther will attend meetings of the cabinet and work with new Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Robert Jenrick.
