A car appears to have collided with the central reservation of the M62 eastbound near to junction 11 at Birchwood.
CLOSURES were in place on the M62 this morning after a crash.
One lane of the eastbound carriageway was blocked between junction 11 at Birchwood and junction 12 at Eccles, with delays of around half-an-hour reported back to junction nine at Winwick as a result.
The lane in the contraflow area of the motorway, in place due to roadworks, was partially blocked.
A vehicle appears to have collided with the central reservation, currently separating lanes two and three.
But the accident was cleared at around 9am and all lanes have reopened.
Congestion was also reported on the westbound carriageway due to motorists slowing down to look at the accident – which occurred at around 8am.
