Watford youngster Harry Forster said he now has the taste for first-team football after making his debut against Ajax in a pre-season friendly.
The academy graduate was included in the starting line-up against the Champions League semi-finalists on Thursday evening and put in an impressive performance as the Hornets went in a goal to the good at the break.
The Dutch champions came back with a strong second-half performance and scored twice to win the match, but Forster was still delighted to be given his chance.
Speaking on the club's official Instagram page after the game, he said: "I've got the taste for it now, so I just have to keep working hard. That's the plan.
"It feels absolutely amazing, honestly I'm over the moon with that to make my debut today. I feel as though I've done well as well, but honestly, I'm speechless.
"At the moment I feel as though the hard work's paying off, but I don't stop here, I've got so much work to do.
"The boys have been amazing with me, just giving me so much advice and telling me how to push on and reach the next level."
