Warrington Guardian:

Warrington Hospital declared a major incident following the incident, with senior management called in during the night to assist.

However, only a handful of patients were taken to hospital in the end having suffered minor injuries.

It is believed that no casualties suffered serious injuries.

Police remained on scene at the Daresbury Park Hotel throughout Thursday, with areas of the facility being cordoned off for several hours.

One hotel guest described the terrifying scenes on the premises in the morning following the violence.

He said: “It was all kicking off – there were police everywhere, it was really bad.

“I could see it all happening out of my window, there’s still a massive police presence and it’s all cordoned off.

“There is blood all over the floor in the corridor.”

Britannia Hotels, which runs the Daresbury Park Hotel, has declined to comment on the matter.
